What's your weight loss goal?
Let's say you weigh 180 pounds now and your goal is to weigh 130 pounds.
Setting a BIG goal, like losing 50 pounds, can feel motivating at first. But that motivation can quickly turn into overwhelm.
So, here's what I suggest you do.
Set your big goal for the year, then break it down into small, manageable goals. Like 10 pounds at a time. And focus on one goal at a time. This will give you several small wins and help you stay motivated.
In our example, it would look something like this:
Current Weight: 180 pounds
Goal 1: 170 pounds
Goal 2: 160 pounds
Goal 3: 150 pounds
Goal 4: 140 pounds
Goal 5: 130 pounds
Focusing on just 10 pounds at a time will help you reach your ultimate goal. The small wins and continued motivation are awesome...but you'll also feel more open to the possibility that this will work for you.
Now, if you like this but you think 10 pounds at a time isn't going to work for you, then focus on 5 pounds at a time or 15 pounds at a time. Whatever feels right to you and your situation.
