It’s easy to just throw in the towel. You may think accepting your new weight is the best way to go until you have more time to focus on yourself. Well, let me tell you, mama....
I see you. I’ve been there myself. And keeping the weight on isn’t going to stop your brain from constantly thinking about it.
After I gave birth to my first son, I remember looking around me and thinking, “How am I going to take care of this tiny baby… let alone myself?”
And so I did the only thing I knew how to do to comfort myself. I ate.
There were so many times I found myself staring at a pantry full of healthy options and heading straight for the cheese puffs or cookies because I knew they’d make me feel better (at least temporarily). Yet I was so frustrated when the weight wasn’t coming off.
Fortunately, I knew dieting wasn’t for me either. I wanted to change my relationship with food from the inside so I could stop thinking about food and weight loss and my body all the time.
I was vaguely familiar with life coaching at the time, but I had no idea if it was something that would help me. But what did I have to lose? Nothing else was working.
So I searched for a podcast on life coaching — and the rest is history.
Learning how to create emotional balance in my life, and lose my weight, changed my life completely.
It took me just a few weeks to change my eating habits. After that, weight loss became so much less challenging. Then, it took me less than a year to reach my goal weight, but what I learned about my emotional self will transform me forever.
